Oceancoll and Cityflow launch the first negative-price bicycle campaign in Barcelona

It is an innovative campaign that fuses the principles of sustainability, social responsibility and wellness. The Oddity Supplements, the Oceancoll® marine collagen-based food supplement company, has teamed up with Cityflow, a bicycle advertising startup, to promote its hydrolyzed marine collagen products. The campaign also includes a collaboration with Empower Eco, an organization committed to the oceans, to drive sustainability and promote social awareness.

The Oddity Supplements, the Oceancoll® marine collagen-based food supplement company, has teamed up with Cityflow and Empower Eco to launch an innovative campaign that kicks off this October in the city of Barcelona. The campaign consists of offering free bicycles to those registered on the Cityflow website for daily use.

In addition, for each QR code scanned on the mermaid-inspired advertising graphic on each bike, Oceancoll® pledges to make a donation to Empower Eco. These donations will translate into help for the elimination of plastic in the oceans, demonstrating Oceancoll®'s commitment to protecting the environment.

"We have been ambitious with this campaign. We are not only looking to improve urban mobility with our free bicycles. Thanks to Oceancoll® we are making a difference by also reducing plastic in the oceans. We are in the midst of a sustainable revolution and our goal is to lead this change in the industry," says Gerard Flores, CEO of Cityflow.

Oceancoll®, marine collagen for skin, bones, muscles and joints care

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, representing between 25 and 35% of the body's total protein and making up 85% of the skin. This protein is of great importance to ensure the strength and flexibility of skin, joints, bones, ligaments, tendons, cartilage and the musculoskeletal system in general.

Oceancoll® offers food supplements based on hydrolyzed marine collagen protein. Derived from the skin of wild-caught marine fish, they offer small peptides of low molecular weight that are highly bioavailable and easy to digest. Thus, the consumption of hydrolyzed marine collagen provides benefits in skin hydration, elasticity and wrinkle reduction. In addition, it also offers benefits in the musculoskeletal system in general, joint pain, tissue repair, post-exercise recovery and sports performance.

"We know that from the age of 25, collagen production begins to decrease progressively, which can lead to the appearance of skin wrinkles, especially on the face. However, the loss of muscle mass starts more significantly from the age of 35, effects that can be accentuated in people with a sedentary lifestyle, which is especially detrimental in old age.

Therefore, it is recommended to consider collagen administration from the age of 25, although it becomes especially convenient from the fourth decade, when the effects of the decrease in collagen production and the loss of muscle mass are more evident", assures Heily Ferrer, B2C Project Manager of The Oddity.

Sustainability as key to the agreement

The marine collagen hydrolysate used in Oceancoll® products, BDF Naturlagen®, is sustainably manufactured from the skins of wild cold-water fish such as cod, haddock and pollock. It is also MSC certified, guaranteeing the sustainable origin of the raw material.

BDF Naturlagen® is manufactured by BDF Biotech, a subsidiary of BDF Natural Ingredients. The company has a state-of-the-art production plant located in the Canary Islands (Spain) and has become an international reference in the production of marine collagen.

There is clinical evidence that accredits its efficacy in terms of skin hydration and wrinkle reduction. Results show significant improvements, including a 23.57% improvement in wrinkle depth after twelve weeks and a 74.53% improvement in skin hydration after six weeks and 115.9% after twelve weeks.

Cityflow partners with companies and organizations that sponsor the bikes and place their advertising on it, offering users a 100% free mobility service. Using a PGS chip, users have location of available bikes and will be able to reserve them via their smartphone. Thanks to this, they offer an affordable and environmentally friendly way to get around the city.

Empower Eco is a digital platform that encourages the collection, tracking and recycling of plastic. In doing so, it advocates creating an infrastructure to foster the circular economy.

All this shows the importance that the companies involved in the agreement attach to sustainability and environmental preservation.
